If you write about insulation, heating or retrofit, you can drop one of our calculators straight into your article. Readers get a real answer without leaving your page. We keep the maths current, including the Ofgem cap each quarter, so it does not go stale on you.

What the embed does and does not do

  • It sets no cookies, loads no analytics and runs no advertising. Nothing about your visitors reaches us. The calculation happens in their browser.
  • It sends one message to the parent page, its own pixel height, so the frame can resize. That is the only thing it communicates.
  • It carries a visible credit line linking back to the full calculator. Please leave it in place, it is the only thing we ask for.
  • Figures are estimates. We keep them current against the Ofgem price cap and Energy Saving Trust savings data, but they are not a quote and not advice.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?

Yes, and there is no signup, no key and no usage limit. Keep the attribution line visible and you are done. You do not need to email us first.

Will it track my visitors?

No. The embedded pages carry no analytics, no ad tags and no cookies at all, which is deliberate. If you run a cookie banner, this embed does not add anything to it.

What happens when energy prices change?

We update the defaults when Ofgem publishes a new cap, usually within a few days. Your page picks up the change automatically because the calculator is served from here.

Why give these away?

Because the credit line sends a trickle of traffic back and helps people find the full tools. That is the entire arrangement, and it is worth more to us than keeping the calculators behind our own front door.

Something else you need?

If you want a calculator we have not built, or a version tuned to your audience, say so on the contact page. We also publish our EPC dataset under the Open Government Licence, which is free to chart, quote and reuse the same way.

Calculator methodology: insulation payback · boiler replacement cost. Savings figures from the Energy Saving Trust; unit rates from the Ofgem price cap in force from 1 July 2026. Editorial policy.
